New Year, New Baby, Pt. 1

This was it. The moment of truth. Two girls, Mia and Misa, stared off against each other. Each with their fingers tightly clasping a toothpick, hoping to god theirs was the losing stick, for this night would be quite harrowing for the winner…

---------------------------------------

“Happy New Year!” shouted Lelaya with glee as she blew a party streamer in the face of her best friends, Mia and Misa. She quickly threw her arms around each of them, before pushing them inside. All the while, her butt was crinkling up a storm.

Some wore diapers for fun, some for pleasure. But for Lelaya, they were a fashion statement and the centerpiece of her wardrobe. Today, however, she went all out, wearing a white dress with a suit coat overtop that did nothing to hide her bulk, along with a matching top hat that had been meticulously pinned to her hair. “We’re gonna have so much fun tonight!” she said whilst practically bouncing off of the walls.

Her compatriots, on the other hand, did not share their bubbly, blonde buddy’s enthusiasm. Mia, a well-mannered, yet timid girl, had prepared herself for, as Lelaya had so lovingly put in her text, “The classiest New Year’s party ever.” As such, she was dawning an evening dress that was far more revealing than her usual wardrobe. She wouldn’t normally dare to dress like this, but it was the New Year, and her resolution was to be more outgoing. Tonight would be her first test.

Sadly, as Mia stood with her besties in a well-decorated, but empty living room, realization began to kick in that this would not be the massive rager that Lelaya had promoted. “Sooooo…where is everyone?” asked Mia, growing more and more self-conscious by the second. She tugged on the hem of her short shirt.

“Yeah, this party’s kinda lame,” said Misa, far less cordial with her words, as well as her appearance. Since dressing up was much too hard for the constant gamer, she decided a hoodie and some jeans would be good enough for her. She was wearing a lovely pair of earrings that she’d gotten for Christmas, but she kept them strategically hidden behind her hair. “Also, what’s with the outfit? You look…somehow less mature than usual,” she scoffed, indulging in one of her favorite pastimes, getting Lelaya all worked up.

“For your information, I am dressed as the Baby New Year! Cuz it’s New Year’s Eve, Misa! Duh!” said Lelaya, stomping her feet like a two-year-old. Taking a breath, she composed herself, “As for the other guests, I suspect a few more visitors might pop in.”

Feeling dejected, Mia plopped herself down on the couch. After working up the courage to put on the stupid dress her mom bought her for Christmas, it was all going to be for nothing.

Misa, meanwhile, was practically giddy at the news. Large crowds weren’t really her scene. If it wasn’t for Mia begging her to have a buddy tonight, she totally would’ve spent the holiday gaming, doubtful she’d even notice the year change over when it happened.

Now that Misa knew how this party was going to shake out, her scheming little mind got to work, ready to bring in the New Year’s with some much-needed Lelaya humiliation, “How come Lelaya gets to be the Baby New Year? I didn’t vote for you.”

Lelaya’s face went red with frustration, “Cuz! Cuz! I’m the one in diapers here! Did either of you wear diapers tonight? I. Don’t. Think. So.”

Feeling spiteful and also a little annoyed by Misa’s constant need to antagonize others, Mia got a mischievous idea in her head, “Hey Misa, if you’re so raw about it, why don’t you ask to borrow a diaper so you can both be Baby New Year.”

Misa instantly blushed at the thought of wearing a diaper tonight. She quickly composed herself, not wanting to give Lelaya any ammo, but it was already too late. In the back of her mind, she swore she’d get Mia back for this.

“That’s a fantabulous idea!” shouted Lelaya, grabbing Misa’s hand, “We should totes be New Year’s babies together.”

Not liking where this was going, Misa quickly thought on her feet, “W-well, that wouldn’t make any sense. There can only be one Baby New Year each year after all.”

Lelaya stopped, taking a thoughtful pose as she pondered Misa’s assertion, “Hmmm…this is very true. Baby New Year isn’t special if there’s more than one.”

With a self-satisfied chuckle, Misa wiped the sweat off of her brow, happy to get out of that so easily. She decided to hammer it home, “Plus, you’re already dressed up for the part. Don’t want all of your hard work to go to waste, now do we?”

“Oh, this? I’ve had these clothes for years. It’s my New Year's outfit, silly,” said Lelaya, somehow too naive to be manipulated at this moment, “I don’t mind sharing.”

Lightbulb!

“Oooooh! I have an idea,” said Lelaya as she ran over to the couch and yanked Mia up to her feet, “Let’s play a game to see who the Baby New Year is! That way, it’s fair!”

Shaking her head, Mia vehemently disliked this idea. After coming here in an elegant party dress, she’d be damned if she was leaving in diapers. Unfortunately for her, Misa was all too happy to play along as she saw the displeasure written all over Mia’s face, “I think that’s a great idea, Lelaya. Why don’t you go pick out a game for us to play?”

“Okie!” yelled Lelaya as she ran out of the living room in high spirits.

Misa snickered, watching Lelaya waddle off down the hallway. She sat down on the couch and put her feet up, turning on the TV, “That should keep the little brat occupied for at least a few minutes.”

Mia did not share Misa’s calm, “What are you doing? You really want to risk being the Baby New Year?”

“Relax,” said Misa, waving off her friend’s concerns, “I let her pick the game for a reason. Knowing her, she’ll pick something she’s good at. Plus, we can easily let her win. Trust me, neither of us will end up diapered tonight.”

----------------------------------------

“Ah, fiddlesticks! I lost!” shouted Lelaya, folding her arms and pouting. She chucked the black-tipped toothpick onto the floor, saddened that she wouldn’t be this year’s Baby New Year.

Misa and Mia were sweating bullets. They’d fully expected Lelaya to choose a game she could easily win. Why on Earth did she pick something random like drawing straws?! The girls looked down at Lelaya’s hand, where the other two sticks were placed, their hearts racing in fear and anticipation.

“L-let's pull at the same time,” said Misa, her typical cocky attitude nowhere to be found. She placed two fingers on the toothpick that was leaning towards her.

Mia followed suit, wrapping her fingers around the ominous, pointed stick. Closing her eyes, she prayed to whatever Goddess was listening that she may escape this situation without feeling utter humiliation.

However, while Mia was hoping for a miracle, Misa was busy making her own luck. As she watched her opponent close her eyes, she decided now would be the best time to tilt the odds in her favor. She wiggled the stick around, making sure that from Lelaya’s perspective, it looked like she was just nervous to pull. Unbeknownst to her though, the skilled gamer was slowly pushing her hand wider, until she was able to see that the toothpick in her hand had a pink tip. No doubt the losing hand.

Smirking, Misa started the countdown, “3…2!” The second she said two, her fingers lunged for the toothpick that Mia was pinching, plucking the second black-tipped toothpick from Lelaya’s fist, “Ahhh! Thank fuck!”

“What the hell, Misa,” said Mia, in sheer disbelief that her friend would betray her like that. Her eyes darted over to Lelaya, who was glaring daggers at her, “W-wait a second! This isn’t fair! Misa went early! I don’t even want to be the stupid Baby New Year!”

Misa snickered, “Oh get over it, ya big crybaby! There was nothing in the rules that said I had to play fair.” She walked over to her slightly taller buddy, wrapping her arms around her waist, “So you better get ready, Baby New Year, cuz the party’s only just getting started.”

Backing away from the devious looks on both of her friend’s faces, Mia did her best to make one final plea, “I-I secede my responsibility to Lelaya. Y-you want to be the Baby New Year, right?”

Lelaya’s scowl faded into an evil grin as she inched closer and closer, “Nuh-uh! We played the game and you got the special stick!” She and Misa each grabbed one of Mia’s arms, giggling with a combination of glee and mischief, “Don’t worry, you’re gonna be the most cutest Baby New Year ever!”

-------------------------------------

Alone in the bathroom, Mia was cursing every second of this as she applied the final tape of the enormous diaper that hugged her hips. At least Lelaya and Misa had agreed to let her change herself, though that was a paltry consolation prize. She sat atop the changing table that Lelaya had installed along the wall, which made the bathroom feel incredibly cramped. She cringed as she looked down at herself, seeing the bulky underwear slightly peeking out from underneath her evening dress. She tugged at the hem of her dress, hoping that her skirt wouldn’t be riding up all night.

Mia hopped down from the changing table, her legs wobbling a bit as she was wholly unused to standing with so much bulk between her thighs. “How does Lelaya make this look so easy?” she said, her self-consciousness only growing as she observed her obvious diaper bulge, which was of course noticeable from almost any angle.

Waddling towards the door, Mia was once again forced to pull her dress down, since it flipped up the moment she took one step. This was going to be a very, very long night.

As Mia opened the bathroom door, she was soon greeted by two wide and insincere smiles. Lelaya ran up and hugged her instantly, her hands rounding to her backside as she began to feel up Mia’s diaper, “Hehehe, you like my CrissBaby Super Soaker Deluxes? They hold so much that you won’t have to change all night!”

Mia pushed back against Lelaya’s invasive hug, “L-Lelaya! You can’t just grab my….grab ME like that.” Her blush amplified as she avoided saying the “D” word at all costs.

“But why, though! All my diaper buddies grab mine all the time! Gotta check it to make sure it’s dry!” shouted Lelaya as her hands once again found their way onto Mia’s diaper for inspection. Even though Mia said she’d never worn a diaper before, she did a decent job taping herself into one, “Excellent work! You even used powder and everything! Such a good baby!”

Mia’s face went crimson, “I-I thought I was supposed to diaper myself. Did I not have to use the lotion and powder?”

Misa and Lelaya broke down in laughter. For Lelaya, it was Mia’s overt timidness that sparked her giggles. For Misa, it was the insanity of it all. Seeing Lelaya in diapers was already funny enough on a regular basis, but to see her meek, mature bestie wearing something so infantile and acting so cute about it was just too much to bear.

“I-It’s not funny!” yelled Mia, stopping her foot without even realizing it. Her words did nothing to dissuade the humor of the situation. Her blood was boiling, not just from the humiliation, but also from how angry she was at her friends. She turned back towards the bathroom, “That’s it! I’m taking this stupid thing off.”

A lace sash suddenly zoomed past her eyeline and wrapped itself around her torso as Lelaya pulled her back, “Ah, ah, ah! Potties are for big girls! As long as you're in diapees, that’s your potty! Hehehe!”

Misa rushed over to Mia, grabbing her by the shoulders and leaning into her ear, “Mia, stop being such a sour puss. It’s only for a few hours.”

Mia quit her struggling and turned back to face her friends bashfully, “F-Fine, I’ll keep the stupid thing on…but only until midnight! Once the next year rolls over, I’m taking it off. Deal?”

Both Misa and Lelaya nodded enthusiastically, thrilled that it didn’t take much convincing to keep her pampered, something that Lelaya took a mental note of. Mia had always been so put off by her obviously fashionable choices, so maybe this would be a good bonding experience for them. She straightened out Mia’s sash, making sure that the bolded words “Baby New Year!” were perfectly visible.

“Let’s head back to the living room and get this party started! I can’t wait to see what Lelaya has planned!” said Misa, as she winked at Lelaya.

Lelaya winked back, “Hehe, yes! Let’s!” She grabbed Mia by the arm and pulled her forward, allowing Misa to giggle as she watched her waddle away. Maybe she should warn her that her diaper is poking out from underneath…nah!

DING DONG

As the three girls entered the well-decorated room, they were stopped by the electronic chime that echoed throughout the space. “Ooh! More guests!”

“M-More?!” stuttered Mia, growing increasingly anxious. It was bad enough that two of her closest friends had already seen her in diapers. The last thing she needed was some stranger assuming she was incontinent.

As Lelaya skipped towards the door, Mia looked over to Misa, hoping that she would bail her out. Much to her horror, Misa was staring right at her and smirking. She held up her phone, allowing Mia to see a message that would come to haunt her nightmares.

The message read: “Hey guys, one of my BFFs is hosting a New Year’s party! If you’re not busy, come join us!” And on the top bar of the message, Mia grimaced with fear at the words “481 recipients.”

Misa hugged her diapered friend from behind, placing a small top hat on her head that wasn’t too dissimilar from the one Lelaya was wearing, “Let’s bring in the New Year in style, baby girl!”
